Muirgheal inghean Alasdair is a late 16th Century Gàidhealtachd woman of the MacMartin family currently living in the home of the Earl of Argyll. As a lady attending to the Earl's wife, Muirgheal spends her days embroidering, sewing, and is always eagerly anticipating dinner.
In the modern world, Muirgheal attends the College of Saint Bunstable, located in the Barony of Madrone, Kingdom of An Tir.

Arts and Sciences
My primary interest in the area of arts and sciences is researching daily life in the Scottish Highlands during the 16th Century and making this knowledge available to others in the society. I am interested in anything and everything, though my current major areas of work are in embroidery, cooking, glassblowing, and costume research. While my costuming skills are in need of need of improvement and I am constantly struggling with whether or not it is acceptable to machine sew long seams, I have been embroidering and cooking for as long as I can remember and a few years in the hot shop has turned me into a good glassblower and given me a working knowledge of flameworked glass and beads. Authenticity is always my highest priority, especially in my materials and methods. As part of my research it is also my goal to be competent in all aspects of my persona's daily life, including speaking basic Gaelic, writing in the script Scottish women used at the time, and being aware of the local and regional events she would have heard about. I'm always happy to pass along any knowledge I have and am ready to soak up more.

Service
While I consider myself first and foremost in the SCA to work on arts and sciences, administrivia is a welcome distraction from my mundane life as a graduate student. On the local level, I'm always happy to take on projects to ensure that an event happens or an office is filled. When I say I'll have something done by a certain date, you can count on me to do so. I may suffer from a case of helium hand, but I am honest and upfront about what I can realistically do and what I need someone else to take care of for me. Currently I'm looking to take on Kingdom level projects, but I'm happy to do whatever is needed to keep the game going.
